Design Cycle Summative Assessment

4th Quarter S.Y. 2012 – 2013

Goal To determine your knowledge in using the Design Cycle, you are expected to:

  • Make a creative and informative blog entry on the different stages of the Design Cycle which will be posted on your personal website
  • Categorize and explain the steps you took during the 1st Quarter Assessment based on the stages
Role You were tasked by the Principal of Xavier School to inspire fellow students to use the Design Cycle whenever they make an assessment.
Audience Regular high school students who undergo assessments every quarter.
Situation Almost every quarter, 6 Summative Assessments are given to high school students in every subject.

Students face different challenges while doing each of them.

To help them cope with these challenges, they need to find a better way of making quality Summative Assessments on time. The creative blog post that you will be making will be their resource in understanding the Design Cycle and realizing its importance whenever a task is given to them.

Product A creative and informative blog post on your wordpress site on the Design Cycle Blog post should also showcase what you have learned during your computer classes.Examples of a creative post:

  • Aside from the explanations in text, you may want to add the following:
    • Add your video explaining the Design Cycle (VLOG).
    • Make a slideshow of the screenshots of your resources(script, timeline)

should contain but is not limited to the following:

  • related photos (original or taken from the internet – with proper citation)
  • related videos (VLOG, actual video footages)
  • screenshots of the 1st quarter Summative Assessment Design Cycle Worksheet
  • other resources used during the 1st Quarter summative assessment (examples: script, timeline)
  • Explanation of the steps you took during each stage
  • Evaluation of your performance during the stages, what you could have done to improve it. Recommendations in each stage to further improve performance in future summative assessments.

Requirements:

  • Blog Post
    • Title of the blog post: DESIGN CYCLE
    • Link of the blog post should be emailed to your computer teacher
    • How the post will look like

PKK 2011:Comp. Department

Para Kay Kiko(PKK) student-teacher participants had their teaching demonstration at the GS Mac lab. Six students were given 10 minutes for demo teaching in preparation for PKK program this summer of 2011. They will be teaching computer applications to students from  San Juan public schools starting this May,2011. Computer teachers were invited to observe the demonstration. Here are photos taken during the PKK demo teaching.

XS E-Mail Migration

Computer Teachers were assigned to different offices and departments to guide and help teachers and staffs migrate their mails from old XS accounts to a new one. This is in preparation for “Single Sign-On” program, which was initiated by ITS (Information Technology Services) Department. These are  photos taken in some of the sessions.

Google SketchUp workshop

Two whole day workshops were held at the University of Makati: one for educators and trainers and one for students. These workshops focused on developing basic modeling skills by means of an introduction to SketchUp, some aspects of photography, photo editing, and other techniques specific to geo-modeling. Grade 7 FLEXI ROBOlympics

SMIT Teachers and all grade 7 students under SMIT FLEXI gathered this morning at the HS MPH for their final test in robotics. We called the activity ROBOlympics, this is where they applied all what they learned from Science, Math and Computer for the 3rd quarter. This video introduction was used to motivate students in doing their tasks.

SMIT-Robotics

Last November 18, there was a common activity for Science, Math and IT (SMIT) held at the GS-MPC. Grade 7 students were formally introduced to ROBOTICS with the help of GENETIC Computer Institute. Robot kits were demonstrated and shown to the students.
